Museo Provinciale Campano di Capua
The Campanian Museum (Museo Provinciale Campano di Capua, also known as the Museo Campano) is a historic museum devoted to ancient Campania. The museum is housed in Palazzo Antignano, a historic building that dates back to the 9th century AD. It incorporates the remains of the small church of San Lorenzo ad Crucem, a Lombard church built on the site of one of the three noble seats of the city. The building has a splendid Catalan-Durazzo style portal with the coats of arms of the Antignano and d’Alagno families. The museum is divided into two sections: an Archaeological section and a Medieval section with a prestigious adjoining Library; there are 32 display rooms, 20 storerooms, three large courtyards and an extensive garden.
