Museo del Mare di Napoli
Founded in Naples in 1992 as a specialist structure within a nautical school, the museum was registered as a European Naval Museum the same year. The Museo del Mare, which overlooks the Bay of Pozzuoli and the Phlegraean Fields, is the only cultural site devoted to the sea of Naples. Besides being a symbol and a place for preserving the maritime cultural heritage of Naples, the museum also organises events such as cultural initiatives, educational and art workshops inspired by the sea. The rooms of the museum include displays of various exhibits such as vintage radios and navigation instruments, rare texts, nautical maps, photographic and audiovisual archives.
