Museo civico di Castel Nuovo
The museum of Castel Nuovo is situated within the castle better known as Maschio Angioino. The museum galleries are arranged on several floors and houses sculptures, paintings and objects ranging from the medieval period to the late 19th century. The museum itinerary begins with the Palatine Chapel (Cappella Palatina), dating to the early 14th century, which contains several sculptures by Domenico Gagini and Francesco Laurana and frescoes by Giotto portraying Biblical Scenes of which only a few fragments survive.
