Museo Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei nel Castello di Baia
The Aragonese castle of Baia houses the Archaeological Museum of the Phlegraean Fields (Museo Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei). The numerous finds in the museum come from various archaeological sites in the Phlegraean area, including the Sacellum of the Augustales at Miseno and the Nympheum of Punta Epitaffio at Baia, which now lies 7 metres below sea level due to the effects of bradyseism. A large section is devoted to the plaster casts which reflect the numerous sculptors’ workshops that were active in the Phlegraean area during the Roman period.
