CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITIONS
Contemporary art is on display in Naples at the Madre Museum, from December 15th 2018 to April 8th 2019, with the retrospective of “Robert Mapplethorpe. Choreography for an exhibition”, curated by Laura Valente and Andrea Viliani, dedicated to one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century.
The exhibition includes more than 160 works staged in an hypothetical dialogue with archaeological works, ancient and modern, in a new and articulated performative program in which some of the most important international choreographers will be involved.
From November 30th 2018 to March 20th 2019, the Fondazione Donnaregina per le arti contemporanee, in collaboration with the Fondazione Plart, presents the exhibition Bruno Munari. I colori della luce curated by Miroslava Hajek and Marcello Francolini, by the Plart Museum. The exhibition analyzes the fixed-light projections and the polarized light projections made in the fifties of the last century with which Munari completes his research aimed at conquering a new spatiality beyond the two-dimensional reality of the work.
The PAN | Palazzo delle Arti Napoli opens to the public, from November 1st 2018 to 22nd April 2019, the Escher retrospective, curated by Mark Veldhuysen and Federico Giudice Andrea. The exhibition will present, in addition to the works of the visionary genius, also a large section dedicated to the influence that his work and his creations exerted on successive generations, from vinyl records to comics, from advertising to cinema, through a visual path of 200 Works.
