Circuito Ravello – Complesso Monumentale di Villa Rufolo
Built in the 13th century by the family that gave it their name, Villa Rufolo is the star attraction of Ravello. The entrance to the villa is through the tower that overlooks Piazza Duomo. The itinerary leads to the Moorish Cloister (Chiostro Moresco) and from there to the Torre Maggiore. The gardens extend from the foot of the tower and are also known as the “Garden of the Soul”. The garden was visited by Wagner in 1880 who felt he had discovered the garden of Klingsor and used it as the inspiration for the setting of the final act of Parsifal.
