Battistero di San Giovanni in Fonte
The early Christian baptistery is one of the oldest in the whole of the West. built on commission of pope marcello I, from which the church and the village, marcelliànum, takes its name, destroyed in the sixth century perhaps during the greek-gothic war. in the twelfth century the church was rebuilt, now dedicated to saint john the baptist.
The 1985-1987 restorations brought to light a structure articulated around a square building, and the walls, with round arches, which originally probably supported a dome.
