Scavi di Stabia
Situated near the hill of Varano at Castellammare di Stabia, the archaeological excavations of Stabiae reveal a completely different aspect of ancient Roman life with respect to Pompeii and Herculaneum. The excavations have so far only brought to light part of the ancient city: luxurious villas such as Villa San Marco and Villa Arianna, the Second Complex and a series of country villas such as Villa Carmiano which contains a fresco of Neptune and Amymone.
