Museo delle Arti Sanitarie e di Storia della Medicina

The Museum of the Healing Arts and History of Medicine (Museo delle Arti Sanitarie e di Storia della Medicina) is situated in the courtyard of a historical hospital (Ospedale degli Incurabili), in a sixteenth century building with baroque influences. A fascinating aspect of this complex, which is still involved in healthcare provision, is the continuous interaction between art and science. The museum contains antique instruments and objects such as surgical tools, portable apothecaries and numerous books on display in four rooms, devoted to illustrious figures of the Neapolitan school of medicine: Moscati, Cirillo and Cotugno.
