Complesso Monumentale Donnaregina – Museo Diocesano di Napoli
The Diocesan Museum (Museo Diocesano di Napoli), housed inside the baroque church of Donnaregina Nuova, is located in Via Duomo. The exhibition rooms display more than 300 religious art works mostly by painters belonging to the Neapolitan School, such as Aniello Falcone, Luca Giordano, Fabrizio Santafede and Giuseppe Simonelli. The themes of Christianity are expressed in the representation of Saint Januarius (San Gennaro), the Patron saint of Naples, and in the portrayal of the Virgin Mary.
