Museo Correale di Terranova
Located in an eighteenth century villa, the museum contains all the works of art belonging to the Correale brothers. Since they were bachelors and died heirless, they decided that all the works should be displayed in a museum. As well as art works, the villa also contains Louis XIV style furnishings, archaeological finds from the Sorrento area, Attic pottery, Greco-Roman bronzes, Greco-Roman marble, medieval finds, and lastly a small library with a collection of texts about medicine, botany, Italian and foreign literature, the history of Sorrento and various editions of the works of Torquato Tasso.
